Alison is a country and bluegrass artist. She began to work in the world of music in the early years of her life. at the age of 10 years old, she took part in local competitions and made her debut album. She signed to Rounder Records in 1985 and recorded her first self-titled album on the label in the year 1987. Then, she was invited to be a part of Alison Krauss Union Station, the band she currently performs with. Her debut album together as a band was released in 1989.
